ADBoN! was formed from the ashes of the late, lamented Montreal bands Secret Act and This “Blue Piano” in 1987. The three core members of the band were and remain guitarist Robert Ranaldi, drummer Geoff Finch, and bassist Ken Ashdown.

Although no recordings were ever officially released while a going concern, A Different Brand of Noise! was quite prolific, building a catalogue of over 30 original songs in less than 2 years before the band split to get real jobs. At long last, however, the band has reunited through the magic of the interwebs and a new album will see light of day in 2023; see below for more information.

We are thrilled to announce that the first official album from A Different Brand of Noise! is in the works and due for release in early 2023. Containing 19 songs including the epic “Time Will Tell,” the anthemic “Stir in the Air” and the retro-riffic “Dog Day Afternoon” among other crowd-pleasers, the album is self-produced and features all three original members.
